Parliament Staff Strike Not Connected To Autonomy- Jigawa Chapter

Jigawa State House Of Assembly

Cov/ USMAN MZ, Jigawa

Parliamentary Association of Nigeria Jigawa state chapter says the on-going strike embarked upon by the chapter has nothing to do with non implementation of the full autonomy of State House of Assembly rather to obey the directive of the association’s National body.

The state chairman, Comrade Umar Adamu Kazaure made this known to newsmen in Dutse.

Comrade Adamu Kazaure explained that Governor Badaru’s administration besides given the state Assembly its autonomy, also gave legislative arm its monthly share of revenue grant through statutory account.

According to him, the Governor has established the state assembly service commission which is another key demand of the association fulfilled by the administration.

Comrade Adamu Kazaure conveyed appreciation of the National body of the association to Jigawa state for the full autonomy being enjoyed by state House of assembly.

The chairman, therefore advised other states to follow suit by implementing constitutional provision and the executive order number 10 signed by president Muhammadu Buhari.
