President Muhammadu Buhari has called on the international community to further collaborate efforts in tackling some of the major threats across the globe.

The President listed such threats as terrorism, insurgence, displacement of persons, and climate change, which pose great challenges to human existence.

He was speaking in Abuja, while receiving Letters of Credence from 6 Ambassadors deployed to Nigeria.

President Buhari urged them to work towards building stronger relations, with focus on providing joint solutions to rising human and environmental challenges.

He told the envoys that Covid-19 pandemic had remained humanity’s greatest threat, as it does not only affect public health, but also has a devastating effect on people’s economy and livelihood.

President Buhari assured the new Ambassadors that Nigeria had been enjoying satisfactory bilateral relations with each of their countries, and urged them to enhance it for the benefit of the citizenry.

He noted that peace was priceless, desirable and crucial to sustainable development and achieving the targets set by the UN global initiatives.

The President said it was therefore imperative for Nigeria and their countries to work individually and bilaterally for the attainment of sustainable peace and food-security.

Speaking on behalf of the diplomats, High Commissioner of The Gambia, Mr. Mohammadou Musa Njie, assured that they would work to improve relations between their countries and Nigeria.

The Ambassadors are from The Gambia, South Korea, Slovak, Australia, Bangladesh, and Guinea Bissauo.
