Jigawa State Pension Scheme Pays Over N1.4bn To Beneficiaries

Jigawa state and local government contributory pension scheme has paid over 1.4 billion naira as benefits for three categories of workers in the first quarter of this year.

The Executive Secretary Alhaji Hashim Ahmed Fagam stated this while briefing newsmen at Pension house Dutse, the state capital. 

He explained that the money includes retirement and death benefits and refund of 8% contribution.

Alhaji Ahmed Fagam further said the death pension balance had also been paid to the beneficiaries.

According to him, the beneficiaries are workers of the state government, local government and local education authority. 

Alhaji Hashim Ahmed Fagam noted that the 589 Staff retired from service and 144 who died in service as well as pensioners would be paid their entitlements of over 1.3 billion naira while 183 local government staff would also receive over 234 million naira as their benefits.

Similarly, 184 staff of Local government education authority will receive over 337.7 million naira.

The Executive Secretary who commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for support and cooperation given to the board at all times. pointed out that, the board does not extort money from anybody in processing payment to the beneficiaries.
