Task Force Confiscates Over #6M Worth Of Fake Drugs In Kano

Kano State Ministry of Health Task Force Committee on Counterfeit, Fake, Substandard Drugs and Unwholesome Processed Foods has confiscated expired drugs worth N6.4million at Enugu Road, Sabon Gari, Kano.

This was contained in a media statement signed by the public relations officer of the Ministry, Hadiza Namadi.

The statement explains that the committee also intercepted 24 cartons of expired dates, assorted expired drugs and 2 cartons of expired biscuits valued at over N1million at Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi market.

It states that, while receiving the items from the Task Force Chairman, Pharmacist Gali Sule, the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, commended the members of the Committee for their determination to rid the state of counterfeit, fake drugs and unwholesome processed foods.

Dr. Tsanyawa reiterated the full support of the government for the success of this very important assignment, noting that if the items were not intercepted, they would have been subsequently consumed by the unsuspecting public leading to severe health consequences.

The Commissioner also urged the general public to also compliment the effort of the government by supplying useful information to the committee.
