Cov/Bello Wakili, Abuja

The Amalgamated Union of Food and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria, AFUCDN,
has presented preconditions to be met by the Federal Government to
forestall recurrence of food embargo to the South.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and former Minister of Aviation,
Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode led the leadership of the union to a meeting with the Chief of Staff to President Buhari in Abuja, in which issues leading to the recent food blockage imposed on the South
were discussed.

Governor Yahaya Bello said working together with Mr. Fani-Kayode, were able to reach out to the major stakeholders on both sides, who had agreed to address issues at stake amicably.

“The most important commitment, is the pledge that people from the South would stop attacking Hausa/Fulani communities in the South, and the agreement that criminals, irrespective of their leanings, would be handed over to law enforcement agents”

According to him

Speaking, Mr. Fani-Kayode said if not for the timely intervention, the crisis, which he described as a very complicated one, would definitely have escalated into a major crisis in the country.
