Sensitization Reduces Rate Of Child Malnourishment- CS-SUNN

The Media have been tasked to educate parents on the important of Infant and Young Children Feeding IYCF through their reportage for growth and development of the child.

Coordinator, Civil Society Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria CS-SUNN Kaduna state chapter Jessica Bartholomew made this known at a quarterly media round table meeting in kaduna.

Jessica Bartholomew said the idea was to update the media with correct information and figures towards tackling the rate of stunting children in the state.

According to her, joining hands with media , stakeholders and CSO’s in advocacy and sensitization will help in slashing down the rate of malnourished children and death of infants.

Speaking, Quality Assurance Emergency Nutrition Action Plan Officer , Mr Jibril Isa who lamented increased death rate of Nigerians due to malnourishment said alot needed to be done in terms of community awareness and provision of services to Primary Health Care centers.

A media practitioner with News Agency Of Nigeria NAN Mr Philip Yatai charged the media to report accurate figures stressing that authentic information would ginger government to take immediate action in tackling the situation.
