Kim Kardashian West Files For Divorce From Kanye West

Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from her rapper husband Kanye West after nearly 7 years of marriage.

A Los Angeles Superior Court spokeswoman confirmed to Reuters that Kardashian filed the divorce papers on Friday.

A representative for the 40-year-old reality TV star also confirmed that she had filed papers.

The grounds for the divorce were not immediately known.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian got married in 2014.

TMZ said sources called the divorce “amicable,” saying Kardashian is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s four children, which the musician is “fine” with.

The news site also reports that the pair had a prenuptial arrangement in place, with discussions on property settlements said to be in the advanced stages.

It follows months of speculation that the couple’s marriage was in trouble, with multiple sources telling US media that their “divorce is imminent” and Kardashian has hired renowned divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.
