FG Provides 25 Megawatt Power Plant At Kano Free Trade Zone

The federal government says it had awarded the contract of generating twenty five mega watts of power at the Kano free trade zone,geared towards attracting investors for the development of the Nation’s economy.

Minister of Industry, trade and investment Otumba Adeniyi Richard Adebayo stated this when he paid an inspection visit to the Kano free trade zone at ungogo local Government Area of the state.

Otumba Adeniyi Richard Adebayo said federal government was working asidiously in providing infrastructure,aimed at attracting investors.

He said president Muhammadu Buhari was working towards making Nigeria industrial hub of Africa by investing money on infrastructure.

The Minister maintained that with the recent development on the provision of the Twenty five megawatt,many companies had started indicating interest to set up industries at the Kano free trade zone.

Otumba Adeniyi Richard noted that discussion was ongoing between the ministry and the bureau of public enterprises on issues concerning the concessioning of Kano and Calabar free trade zones, stressing that whatever decision taken would be in the interest of those who have invested in the free trade zones.

Earlier the Managing Director Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority NEPZA professor Adesoji Adesugba said He would work tirelessly in upgrading the activities of free trade zones Accross the country.

During the inspection visit the Minister who was accompanied by the state Minister of the Ministry Ambassador Mariam Yalwaji Katagun and other senior officials inspected some of the factories operating at the premises of the Kano free trade zones.
