Kaduna Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Develops Covid19 Operation Plan

Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has developed a covid-19 operation plan to guide its operations and officials against the scourge.

The Director of Operations Of the Board, Mallam Abubakar Alhassan made this known to newsmen in Kaduna.

Mallam Abubakar Alhassan said last year, the Overseer of the Board, Hajia Hannatu Zailani mandated the constitution of an operational think-tank committee to review and brainstorm on the state’s hajj operations system and come up with an efficient covid-19 hajj operation plan.

He explained that the plan is expected to guide the operations and mitigate the risks involve against the pilgrims and pilgrim officials.

According to him, the Committee worked along with experts in public health and other related resource persons within and outside the board, in reviewing the entire hajj operations model of the state in relations to the national structure, regulatory concerns and consular aspects of hajj operations.

The Director who said the plan which was to be harmonious with other Stakeholders, noted that arrangements could not reach fruition owing to the cancellation of the 2020 hajj.

“Due to the preponderance of the scourge since then, against the backdrop of the increasing threat of coronavirus to Hajj operations, committee has gone ahead with its task and has concluded the assignment which is expected to guide the operations of the board in the 2021 hajj”.

He said the plan was expected to be formidable enough to help mitigate the risks of covid-19 against Kaduna pilgrims and officials and also to fathom a guideline to help it in meeting its goals of smooth hajj operations.
