Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi RTD has inaugurated a Twenty-one man committee with a ten point of reference to facilitate reforms of the ministry and the Armed forces of Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Special Assistant to the Minister on media and publicity, Muhammad Abdulkadir in Kaduna.
At the inauguration ceremony in Abuja, the Minister urged members of the committee to address adminstrative and operational gaps in the military in compliance with globally acceptable standards.
He also urged members of the committee to see their assignment as a patriotic call to national service, and the need to play their part in defence of the country’s territorial integrity against the infractions of criminals.
In his inaugural address, Chairman of the Committee, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Ndatsu Umaru RTD, assured the Minister that members of the committee would bring their experiences and expertise to bear in the discharge of their duty.
Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Ndatsu Umaru added that dedication and team work would be their watchwords within the ambit of national realities.
