FG Assures Improved Welfare Of IDPs Across The Country

Federal Government has reaffirmed Commitment to continuously improve the welfare of IDPs across the country.

Director General, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, AVM Muhammadu Muhammad (rtd) made this known at the end of the monthly distribution of food items for January 2021 at Teachers Village camp.

Represented by Head of Borno state Food Distribution Team, Navy Captain Mustapha Abdullahi noted that the distribution was expected to benefit 38,000 households of Internally displaced persons in camps.

According to him, NEMA had been poviding monthly food rations and condiments to  IDPs in camps, host and liberated communities to cushion the impact of food insecurity in the state.  

He explained that the team would move to liberated communities for similar exercise.

Representatives of the 7400 households of beneficiaries at Teachers Village IDP camp Hauwa Aliyu and Yakaka Mustapha while receiving their rations expressed appreciation to Federal Government for the timely monthly food assistance

Our correspondent added that each household was provided with 54.6 kilograms of assorted food items consisting of 25kg of beans, 12.5kg of rice and maize each as well as 4.6kg of condiments.
