Bandits Attack Zamfara State Speaker’s Hometown, Kill 3

About 3 people have lost their lives when bandits invaded the home town of the state assembly speaker, Magarya Village in kanwa District of Zurmi local government area of Zamfara state.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Director General, Press Affairs and Public Relations of the Assembly , Mustapha Jafaru Kaura.

It states that, some people escaped with various degrees of injuries and over 100 cattle were rusted while food items worth millions of naira also set ablaze by the terrorists group.

“The leader of the state government team who is also the speaker, state House of Assembly Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya led a delegation to assess the level of damage done at the town and sympathised with people of the area over the attacks.”

“The delegation was conducted round the town by the district head of Magarya (Marafa) Alhaji Muhammadu Sani who expressed worries over the acts and called on government to bring the perpetrators to book”, the statement adds.

Alhaji Nasiru Ma’azu Magarya explained that, the act would not deter the state government’s efforts in devising ways for lasting peace through stick and carrot approach.

He condoled the families of those that lost their lives and sympathised with those who lost different livestock and food items that were set ablaze by the terrorists.

Responding on behalf of the victims, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor Alhaji Aminu Magarya thanked the speaker and his entourage for the sympathy visit and prayed Allah to reward them abundantly.
