From Abdulrazak Kaura (Zamfara)

Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Abutu Yaro has implored Islamic Cleric in the State to preach peace for improved security.

CP Abutu Yaro made this know during a familiarisation visit to the Emir of Bungudu, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru at his Palace.

The Commissioner said the call became imperative considering the fact that, people of the state respect the Islamic teachings more than any advocacy, hence the need for the clerics to support the peace process of the state through village to village preachings to enlighten Fulani on the dangers of criminal activities and importance of peace in their Socio economic development.

Mr. Abutu Yaro who spoke to Fulanis in the emirate via an interpretation by DSP Sadiq Umar, said for the Fulani Communities to enjoy Health Facilities, quality Education, Water Supply among others, they need to embrace peace and encourage their brothers to surrender weapons.

He pledged to provide security cover and other logistics to clerics who may wish to go to the villages to preach for peace.

In his remark, Zamfara State Commissioner for security and Home affairs, Mr. Abubakar Muhammad Dauran charged security agencies to commence onslaught to recalcitrant bandits as the refused to key into the peace and reconciliation initiative of the State Government.

He who accused some Hausas for aiding the bandits as informers and collaborators in executing their evil motives therefore admonished Fulanis to be conscious of the plight of their children’s future.

Responding, the Emir of Bungudu, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, commended CP Abutu for the visit, saying the CP’s tour to Emirates and Police Formations in the State is timely and urged security agencies to adopt new strategies in fighting the criminals as the Bandits are still terrorising innocent citizens.
