Insecurity: ‘There Will Be Turning Point In The Fight- Ndume

The Chairman Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume has expressed confidence that the year 2021 will be a turning point in the fight against insecurity in the county.

Senator Ndume gave the assurance while briefing newsmen in Maiduguri against the backdrop of the recent successes recorded in the recent joint military operations in the northwest.

According to him, Nigerian Army and the Airforce would soon take delivery of additional platforms that will change the tide of the war against insurgency and banditry in addition to recruitment of more soldiers to be deployed to theater of operations.

The Senator commended troops in the frontline for their continued resilience and gallantry despite the challenges in protecting the territorial integrity of the county.

“The Nigerian Army, Airforce and the Navy are also turning out their special forces that they have sent on training to various countries, they are now back. We have seen in Borno what one of the officers alone as a special force is doing in the northern part of the state”.

On the new year broadcast to the nation, Senator Ali Ndume commended the courage of President Buhari for acknowledging the challenges confronting the nation, stressing that this singular act has renewing the faith of Nigerians towards his administration.

He urged the President to establish office for budget implementation and impact assessment to strictly monitor budget performance and how it affect Nigerians.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Army assured to provide the necessary support and legislation to the Nigerian Army to enable it succeed in all its operations.
