Vigilantes Get 8 Vehicles To Fight Insecurity In Borno

Borno state government has presented eight hilux vehicles to civilian JTF and other vigilante groups in Hawul local government area.

Governor Babagana Zulum had pledged to strengthen local security network following last Saturday’s attack on four communities.

Tashan Alade, Shafa, Azare, Sabon-Kasuwa and Debro were affected in the attack with schools, shops and places of worship destroyed by suspected Boko Haram insurgents; while one civilian and two hunters killed.

The deputy governor, Umar kadafur made the presentation of the patrol vehicles to the Divisional Police Officer and leaders of vigilante groups in Azare town, the head quarters of Hawul LGA.

He said government would continue to prioritise security to ensure total peace was restored in the state

Alhaji Kadafur said Governor Zulum had commended security operatives in the area for fighting insurgency and promised continued support.

He also promised that renovation of destroyed facilities, residential and business building as well as police stations would soon commence.
