Police Maps Out Strategy Towards Defeating Banditry In Niger

Nigeria police says it is mapping out effective strategy towards defeating banditry, kidnapping cattle rustling and other forms of criminality in Nigeria.

Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Adamu stated this when he visited the Joint Task Force of police and members of Special Constabulary Vigilante at Gidan Kasanga in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger state.

Represented by Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger state Adamu Usman the IGP maintained that the fight against crime must be won at all cost.

IGP Mohammed Adamu stressed the need for members of public to supply them with useful information that would assist the police in carrying out their mandate.

He stressed the need for collective efforts by all and sundry to rid Nigeria of criminal elements

IGP Mohammed Adamu who advised them to operate within the ambit of law also appreciated them for sacrificing their lives while people were celebrating Christmas at home with their families.

Speaking, the Niger state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin daji said communities have agreed to rid it’s people from bandit attacks.

He said the Task Force hds cleared bandits hideout in Kontagora, Rijau, Mariga and were now in Mashegu Local Government for a final push to clear such bandits.
