Gov Badaru Of Jigawa Launches 2021 Armed Forces Emblem

Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state has launched the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance and Emblem appeal fund with the sum of 500 thousand naira.

Represented by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila, the Governor said the Remembrance Day was a significant annual event organised to honour members of the Nigerian Armed Forces who sacrificed their lives for the survival of the country.

He said Government and the entire people in the country owed a debt of gratitude to the armed forces who sacrificed their lives to defend the sovereignty of Nigeria.

Badaru further explained that the government was committed to upholding the ideals for which patriots had fought and died.

According to him, Jigawa State government remained focus in directing all its energy towards formulating policies and programmes that have positive bearings on the lives of its citizens.

Earlier, the state commissioner of Information, Youth, sport and culture, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim Mamser, said the objective of the occasion was to remember the fallen heroes who fought and lost their lives in the first, second world war, civil war and the fight against insurgency.

The State Chairman of Nigeria Legion Association, Comrade Aliyu Ahmed, commended the state government for providing welfare services for the legions and the fallen heroes across the 27 local governments in the state.

Radio Nigeria reports that over one million naira was realized during the launching of the 2021 armed forces remembrance day celebration and emblem appeal Fund.
