Kano-Jigawa Customs Command Exceeds #20bn Revenue Target

Nigerian Customs Service NCS, Kano-Jigawa State Command has declared increase in revenue generation of about #1bn this year, despite covid 19 pandemic.

The area controller, Suleiman Lapa-Umar said in Kano that the command was able to generate over #21bn in the last 11 months, as against the #20.4bn target.

Suleiman Umar who Assumed duty two weeks ago explained that the command during the period under review made a total seizures of contraband items with Duty paid Value of over #920mn.

He commended efforts of officers and men, saying the command would continue to draw robust intelligence gathering strategy on border security aim at ensuring secured environment for legitimate trades.

According to him, the command will redouble it’s commitment in sensitizing people living in the boarder areas the dangers of engaging themselves in smuggling activities towards having a secured Nation.

The Area Controller added that even though some borders were reopened, restricted items would not be Allowed into the country.
