KDSG Receives Another Batch of Palliatives

About one billion Naira has been spent on food and protective equipment to the internally displaced persons as well as the most vulnerable in some states of the country.

The chairperson, Victims Support Fund on Covid-19, Barrister Toyosi Akerele who was in Kaduna to handover the items to both the state government and civil society organizations for onwards distribution, said the goods were meant for those in need.

Barrister Toyosi Akerele explained that the phase three distribution of food items and protective equipment is a response initiative to provide palliative measures to the vulnerable in communities in the FCT and seven other States in the North West and North Central of the country.

She appealed to Kaduna State Government to immediately begin distribution of the items, going by the hardship in the country and to forestall a likely repeat of what transpired during the #EndSARS palliative loots.

Responding, Kaduna State commissioner for Human Affairs, Hafsat Baba thanked the Respond Task Force for the items while assuring prompt distribution, adding that the state is a worthy partner.

Items distributed to Kaduna include thousand bags of rice, beans, maize, salt, vegetable oil, hand sanitizers, facemask and boots among others.
