FG Commissions Power Transmission Substation In Jigawa State

The Newly Inaugurated Power Transmission Substation

Federal government has commissioned a new 2 by 6 MVA, and a 132 by 3 KVA transmission substation at Gagarawa local government area of jigawa state.

Speaking at the occasion, Minister of Power, Alhaji Sale Mamman explained that contract for the project was initially awarded in 2012 with a completion period of two years.

According to him, the previous administration had abandoned the project which the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari had just completed in fulfilment of its pledge to finishing abandoned projects across the country.

Alhaji Saleh Mamman said it was also part of effort at ensuring stable power supply for sustainable Socio-economic development and job creation to people of Jigawa and the country

The minister therefore, urged people of the state to take ownership of the project by giving protection it requires and ensuring timely payment of their electricity bills.

In a speech, the Jigawa state governor Alh Badaru Abubakar said already, the state had signed agreement with some investors for establishment of factories around the area.

He noted that seven local government areas would be connected with the new substation and commended the minister for his determination towards adhering to vision and missions of stable power supply across the country.
