Following a motion filed in to the federal house of representative by member representing Rano,kibiya and Bunkure Alhaji Kabiru Alhassan Rurum to upgrade the status of the Kano state polytechnic Rano campus to federal polytechnic has began in earnest .
Alhaji Kabiru Alhassan Rurum stated this while briefing journalists on the activities of the National Assembly in Kano.
The law maker explained that he presented the motion before the assembly with regards to the importance of education in the development of his constituency,the state and the nation at large.
He noted that if the bill scales first,second and third Readings at the floor of the house, and Recieved presidential accent, the Kano polytechnic Rano campus would now have full capacity of a federal polytechnic,saying this would play a vital role in uplifting educational development in the state.
Alhaji Kabiru Alhassan Rurum maintained that another bill to convert the Rano general hospital to a federal medical center has also scale first Reading.
“In Kano ,many our people depend on Aminu Kano teaching hospital for effective Health care services,and our people in the rural areas come across alot of challenges in accessing the services of this federal facility,I think if we have another federal medical center in Rano it would help immensely in addressing Health care challenges”
He explained that the national assembly was working tirelessly in ensuring that Yearnings and aspirations of the electorates are being fulfilled by deliberating and passing bills that would have positive impact on the lives of Nigerians.
Speaking on constituency projects,the lawmaker stated that in the last 12 months,alot of projects have commenced,which includes construction of roads ,Rurum to yalwa, yalwa to gidan tsamiya in Rano and another one would soon commence in Zurgu Community.
Rurum added that rehabilitation of some primary schools have Recieved maximum attention under the constituency projects,in Bunkure,kibiya and Rano respectively.
