FRCN Defends over #10billion Budget

Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria-FRCN has budgeted over ten billion naira in the twenty twenty one Appropriation fiscal year.

Director General of FRCN, Dr. Mansur Liman stated this while defending the Corporation’s budget estimate for the year 2021 before the House of Representatives committee on Information and Orientation in Abuja.

Dr Mansur Liman explained that of the total amount over 9 billion naira is for personnel cost, 193 million for overhead cost, while 565 million naira was earmarked for capital projects.

The Director General who confirmed plans by the FRCN to adopt innovations on new media advocated more funding for the Corporation to enable it compete with foreign stations in delivering its mandate.

In his remark, the Committee Chairman, Mr Olusegun Odebunmi, who commended the FRCN DG for his contributions to National unity and development, advised him not to relent in that direction.

Our National Assembly correspondent confirmed that other media executives from Nigerian Television Authority- NTA, Voice of Nigeria -VON and the News Agency of Nigeria -NAN, were also at the Budget defence for thier stations.
