Lekki shooting: Sanwo-Olu orders investigation, flies half mast

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu has ordered the suspension of all State activities for the next three days, while flags in all public buildings in the State are to fly at half mast.

In a  broadcast, Governor Sanwo-Olu said he had ordered an investigation into the adopted rule of engagement employed by military personnel deployed to the Lekki Toll gate last night and apologized for the violent acts against peaceful protesters there.

Governor Sanwo-olu pointed out that no Governor has control over activities of the Military and called on President Muhammad Buhari as the Chief Commander to wade into the activities of the Military in Lagos with a view to bringing culprits to book.

While confirming the vandalisation of a number of public prorperty, the Governor again appealed to the Youths to sheath their sword and come to the dialogue table rather than vandalizing Government property built with their taxes.

He implored parents and guardians to caution their children and wards from being used as an instrument to forment trouble in the State.
