Sultan Tasks Political Office Holders To Uphold Oath of Allegiance

The Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar has reminded political office holders on the need to uphold their oath of allegiance with all sense of humor.

He stated this at the lying the foundation stone of the proposed As-Salam Global University by members of the Jamaatu Izalatil Bid’a Wa Ikamatus Sunnah JIBWIS in Hadejia local government area of Jigawa state.

He explained that leadership is a trust, and that each and every leader will be accountable upon his stewardship before God in the hereafter.

Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar enjoined the leaders of Islamic sect on the need to promote unity, tolerance, in the cause of Islamic advancement.

He urged the leaders of JIBWIS to strive hard in thier commitments towards Islamic propagation, as well contribute positively for the success of this viable project aimed at allowing younger generations to acquire skilful and moral character learning for good society.

Sultan Abubakar also commended the efforts of Izala initiatives in coming up with a vision of citing an Islamic university that will benefit not only the Muslim ummah but to the larger society.

He therefore called on state governors, among other public sectors to contribute positively to the realisation of this noble cause.

In his address, the National Chairman of Jamaatu Izalatil BidiaWaikamatus Sunna JIBWIS, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau said the concept of floating Islamic varsity at this crucial stage was to allow the younger generations to gain access to acquire Western knowledge with skills, and Islamic knowledge for a better tomorrow.

Bala Lau, assured that the proposed university is not peculiar to Muslim ummah alone, but to all and sundry, provided one’s qualification meets the varsity’s standard.

Radio Nigeria reports that over one billion Naira was realized at the occasion with a lump donation of five hundred million naira coming from a good Samaritan who declined mention in the media.

Others are Plateau State Governor, Mr Simon Lalong, who donated two million naira, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu also donated ten million naira for the project.
