Robust Database Effective for Better Planning

The need for a robust Data Base for Nomadic Education in the country has been stressed.


Executive Secretary, National Commission for Nomadic Education, professor Bashir Usman stated this at a workshop in Kaduna, for enumerators that will facilitate biometric capturing of nomadic schools.


Professor Bashir Usman said the training will help identify for capacity development gaps in teacher’s, generate evidence based data, create platform for capturing and hosting information for informed planning.


He explained that credible data for proper planning can never be overemphasized adding that latest technology such as Geo-Reference Infrastructure and Demographic for development will be deploy to achieved set objective. 


The executive secretary appealed to States and Local Governments to be careful in indiscriminately transferring specialized Nomadic teachers to conventional schools considering their peculiar training.

“in our commitment to quality assurance, the gaps identified shall form part of our plan for teacher capacity development” he said.

He charged all participants, supervisors and enumerators to pay attention and aquire the requisite skills to generate reliable and qualitative data.

He concluded by thanking the Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu for the continues support towards the delivery of Nomadic Education programme in the country.

The three day workshop which aimed at building capacity of enumerators of the commission will conduct capturing of Teachers data in primary schools within Baruten and kaiama  Federal Constituency of kwara as the pilot state ;with the expectation of scaling up to other states of the country.
