NDA Conducts retreat for Passing Out Cadets


Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Colonel Hamid Ibrahim Ali retired has charged cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy to place national interest above self.

He gave the charge at a retreat and prize giving ceremony for passing out cadets of sixty-seven regular course and short service course forty-six in Kaduna.

Colonel Hamid Ibrahim Ali retired noted that while placing national interest above self, it is professionally mandatory for cadets to bear in mind, their constitutional role of subordination to civil authority.

He urged the cadets not to relent in maintaining the high standard of discipline which the academy had inculcated in them.

While urging the cadets to be firm, resolute and considerate, the customs boss also urged the cadets to contribute to the progress and development of Nigeria.

Earlier in a welcome address, Director Military training at the academy, Brigadier General Jimmy Akpor explained that the retreat was an epoch making event and a regimental military tradition which had dual significance marking the end of cadets training year.

He disclosed that two hundred and eighty-seven cadets of sixty-seven regular course consisting of one hundred and twenty-seven Army, eighty-five Navy and seventy-five Airforce cadets were due to pass out from the academy on the tenth of this month alongside one hundred and eighty-eight short service army cadets.
