Kaduna NUJ correspondent’s chapel elects new Exco

Kaduna State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ has urged the new Executive council members of correspondents’ chapel to carry everyone along for meaningful development.

The Chairman, Comrade Adamu Yusuf gave the advice at the inauguration ceremony of the new Exco in Kaduna.

Represented by his deputy, Comrade Muhammad Sabi’u, the chairman expressed delight over their emergence in a rancour-free manner.

He urged them to ensure grievances were solved amicably amongst dissenting voices for progress of the chapel.

Also speaking an Ex-officio member of the NUJ national body, Comrade Garba Mohammed urged the new Exco to work as a team and operate an open door policy that would accommodate all shades of opinions and ideas.

In her remarks, the newly elected chairperson Hajiya Asma’u Yawo Halilu pledged to prioritize the welfare of members, trainings and explore other capacity building opportunities for chapel members .

She stressed that the chapel shall run businesses to sustain income of the chapel as well as introduction of vibrant cooperative where members can save money and access loans easily.

The new Exco, who will pilot affairs of the chapel for the next three years also has Mr Kolo Gimba Moses- Secretary, David Onoja as Financial Secretary, Stella Kabruk-Treasurer, and Gambo Abubakar- Auditor. Cov/Usman Sani.
