Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili has been charged with assaulting his former wife.
Twenty eight year old Basilashvili was accused by Neka Dorokashvili of attacking her in front of their five-year-old son.
The Tennis player who is ranked 27th in the world, denied all the allegations, insisting that the truth would be proven in court.
On Sunday, the player was released on a 100,000 Georgian lari ($31,300; £25,700) bail by the court in the capital Tbilisi, although If found guilty, he faces three years in jail.
A preliminary court hearing has been scheduled for 16 July.
Nikoloz Basilashvili has won three ATP titles, but is yet to progress further than the fourth round in any of the four majors.
His highest singles ranking was 16th in the world in May 2019.
