Borno State government plans to dialogue with retired Military Generals, Police Officers, Paramilitary and other related Security figures who hail from the state to map out strategies on how to tackle insurgency.

Governor Babagana Zulum said the proposed meeting came as response to a comment by a retired Brigadier-General from the state, who offered to contribute ways that would help the Government to win the fight against Boko Haram.

Assuring that the dialogue would hold at a convenient time and location, the Governor challenged participants to contribute meaningfully to help the state overcome its current challenges and prosper in various spheres of development

Meanwhile, the retired Brigadier General’s offer came at a meeting convened by the Governor in Abuja with indigenes of the state who are Chief Executives, Permanent Secretaries, Directors and Deputy Directors of Federal Ministries, Departments, Agencies and other stakeholders, to explore ways of addressing challenges of insecurity, recovery and development of the Borno state.
