Kano State Set To Participate At The National Sports Festival

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has described sports as catalyst for social Unity and national development.

The governor stated this, while receiving the torch which signifys the commencement of the 2020 National Sports Festival scheduled to take place in Benin the capital city of Edo state .

Ganduje, who was represented by his deputy Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, commended the federal ministry of sports for organizing the bi-annual event which brings about unity between not only sports loving personalities but Nigerians in general.

Earlier ,chairman Kano state sports commission Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima said in the next four weeks more than 10 thousand athletes would converged in Edo state for the 20th edition of the game.

He maintained that the national sports festival was the biggest sporting events in the country.

Galadima noted that 355 athletes from Kano state were going to compete in 28 events out of maximum number of 35 that will be taking part.

The chairman commended the foresight of the state governor for giving maximum support for the preparations ahead of the games and promised that the contingents were confident that they will go there and excell by doing better than what they did in Abuja 2018.
