The Rector of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, has advised newly admitted students to remain disciplined, hardworking and committed to academic excellence throughout their stay in the institution.

The Rector gave the advice during the 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony held at the Polytechnic Conference Hall in Zaria.

He congratulated the Fresh students on gaining admission, describing their success as the reward for hard work, determination and academic merit after completing the institution’s admission process.

According to the Rector, matriculation is more than a ceremony because it marks the beginning of academic life and reminds students of their responsibilities and obligations.

He urged the students to obey the institution’s rules, respect constituted authority and conduct themselves in ways that will protect the Polytechnic’s good image.

Engr. Muh’d Kabir said Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic remains committed to providing quality technical, vocational and entrepreneurial education that prepares graduates with practical skills for national development.

He encouraged the students to attend lectures regularly, use the library and laboratories, participate in research and seek guidance from lecturers whenever they need support.

The Rector warned students against examination malpractice, cultism, drug abuse, cybercrime, violence and other misconduct, stressing that the Polytechnic has zero tolerance for indiscipline.

He reminded the students that academic success must be supported by honesty, good character and integrity, which are essential qualities for responsible leadership and career success.

Dr. Kabir appreciated parents and guardians for trusting the institution with their children’s education and assured them of continued commitment to quality teaching and moral development.

He also commended academic and non-academic staff for their dedication, saying their efforts have continued to improve teaching, learning and the overall growth of the Polytechnic.

Engr. Muh’d Kabir urged stakeholders to continue supporting the government’s efforts to strengthen technical and vocational education for sustainable development and youth empowerment in Kaduna State.

He congratulated the newly matriculating Students and encouraged them to uphold the Polytechnic’s motto, “Knowledge and Skills for Self-Reliance,” throughout their academic journey.

In a remark the Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Professor Abubakar Sani Sambo, represented by Director of Higher Education, Alhaji Abdulhamid Ahmed congratulated the newly admitted students, describing their admission as a rare opportunity, and urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to academic excellence.

Earlier, the Deputy Rector of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Dr. Isa Adam Abdullahi, congratulated the newly admitted students, describing their matriculation as the beginning of an important academic journey.

He urged the students to obey the institution’s rules, respect constituted authority, uphold academic integrity, and maintain discipline, honesty, and good character throughout their stay.

About five thousand newly admitted students both ND and HND were matriculated.
