Former Niger state Commissioner of Information, Dr Abdullahi Umar Abdulhamid has appealed to the various tribe that have been co existing peacefully with each other for over three hundred years in Rafi Local Government Area not to allow the current problem to divide them.

Instead should further unite them for the peace, progress and stability of the area, while calling on them to shelve their sword and embrace peace.

The former Commissioner of Information in the state who hold the traditional title of Tambarin Kagara, in Rafi Local Government Area who made the the appeal in an interview with our Correspondent in Minna, was responding to the curfew imposed in the area to nip in the bud cases of reprisal attacks by some individual and group.

He however commended the Emir of Kagara, Alh Ahmed Garba Gunna, Attahiru the second for the fatherly role he has been playing to ensure that the current communal clash between the Fulani’s, Kamuku and Pangu’s was brought to a halt and to  bring back the peaceful atmosphere existing in the area for long for the good of all.

Dr Abdullahi Umar Abdulhamid also applauded the Niger state Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago for his concern and support towards bringing an end to the crises which he described as highly commendable, while calling for the setting up of a committee to investigate the incident towards bringing the perpetrators of the unfortunate act to book.

The Special Adviser to the Kano state Governor on Diaspora, Dr Abdullahi Umar Abdulhamid also expressed satisfaction over the professional conduct of security agencies in managing the crises, and thanked the Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger state, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman for always remaining steadfast and result oriented in the discharge of his duties.

He however reminded the various tribe of Kamuku, Pangu, Ora, Bauchi, NUPE, Gbagyi, Hausa and Fulani among others in Rafi Local Government Area that peace is the pre requisite for any meaningful development and those the need for them to continue to love each other and remain peaceful.
