The Kano State Government says it has executed 1,508 developmental projects valued at ₦928 billion within the first three years of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration.

 

The Commissioner for Public Procurement, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation, Nura Iro Ma’aji, disclosed this during a press conference in Kano, stating that the projects span all 44 local government areas of the state.

 

According to the commissioner, 799 of the projects have been completed, while 709 are at various stages of completion.

 

Ma’aji noted that the figures do not include 619 constituency projects currently being implemented across the state by members of the Kano State House of Assembly.

 

He said the administration invested more than ₦169 billion in urban renewal initiatives, including road rehabilitation, drainage construction and other metropolitan development projects.

 

The commissioner also revealed that contracts worth over ₦118 billion were awarded for the construction of 5-kilometre roads in 38 local government areas to improve connectivity and ease transportation.

 

On security, Ma’aji disclosed that the state government approved projects valued at more than ₦6.863 billion for the construction of Kano State Neighbourhood Watch divisional offices in 36 local government areas.

 

He further explained that rural infrastructure projects covering education, healthcare and other social interventions across all 44 local government areas account for contracts worth more than ₦397 billion, while other development projects have a cumulative value of about ₦255 billion.

 

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability and quality service delivery, Ma’aji said the government would continue to sustain development through strategic investments, effective project monitoring and transparent procurement processes.

 

He added that the Ministry for Public Procurement, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation remains committed to ensuring value for money and quality project delivery through effective monitoring of developmental projects across Kano State.

 

Ma’aji also expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their continued support, reiterating the administration’s resolve to deliver projects that meet the needs and aspirations of the people of Kano State.
