The Jigawa State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has flagged off its campaign for the forthcoming October local government council elections in the state.
Speaking at the flag-off of the zonal campaign held in Hadejia, Governor Umar Namadi said that local government elections are one of the critical components of democracy in Nigeria.
He further explained that his administration is committed to ensuring the peaceful conduct of the election to strengthen democratic development in the state.
According to him, APC had in the last 9 years delivered dividends of democracy to every community in the state.
“You all bear witness on our commitment to improve social and economic life of Jigawa state people through execution of various projects and programs under our 12 points agenda, therefore voting for APC candidates at all the 27 local government area will help us in our collective effort toward making Jigawa state Great”
” I call on all good people of Jigawa state to vote for our party candidates as we have confidence on their loyalty patriotism, transparency and commitment for serving the state and humanity in according to our party philosophy and our 12 point agenda”
In a speech, the state party chairman, Alhaji Aminu Sani Gumel, urged party members to reach every corner of the state to campaign for the party’s candidates, highlighting the positive impacts of the APC government in transforming Jigawa State in all social and economic aspects.
“We have confidence that, Jigawa people will overwhelmingly vote for our candidates, but since it is part of democratic tradition to go out for campaign during election period, so let us uphold the tradition and use it as time to meet and greet with all people of the state” Gumel stated.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Local Government, Muhammad Maikudi MK, assured that the APC would continue to serve the people of the state. He urged them to reaffirm their confidence in the party by voting for all its candidates.
