The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) says at the moment, the most challenging issue facing the northern part of Nigeria is insecurity.

This is contained in a communique to newsmen by the Publicity Secretary of the ACF Prof. Tukur Muhammad Baba at the end of the meeting held by the board of trustees under the leadership of the chairman, Bashir Mohammed Dalhat.

According to the communique, insecurity, destitution, unemployment and high cost of living have put the Northern part of the country into trying times, calling on government to intervene towards ending the crises.

The communique further states that northerners should build trust and affection amongst one another to foster peace and unity.

It also calls for strengthening the Arewa Consultative Forum to effectively impact the lives of people in the Northern region and to bring prosperity, promote peace, tolerance, and socioeconomic development across Nigeria.

The meeting was attended by past governors, retired army, police and other security personnel, ambassadors, technocrats and stakeholders across the northern part of the country.
