Training: Essential for a Professionally Responsive Force – TRADOC Commander

The Nigerian Army says it will continue to accord priority to the training and retraining of its officers and soldiers towards becoming a professionally responsive force that is capable of dealing with emerging threats.

This is inline with the philosophy as well as dynamic approach and pragmatic planning of the Chief Of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja of transforming the Nigerian Army to a more competitive and result oriented force.

Commander Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army Major General Kelvin Aligbe stated this while declaring opened a workshop on Doctrine and Combat Development leadership held at the Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army TRADOC Minna, Niger state.

Major General Kelvin Aligbe explained that the workshop is coming at a time when all efforts in the command philosophy of Chief Of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja are geared towards transforming the Nigerian Army into a well trained equipped and highly motivated forces towards achieving constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.

The TRADOC Nigerian Army Commander however said the workshop is aimed at enhancing leadership skills abilities and capabilities of officers and soldiers operating within a joint environment while participants will run minds through robust interactions and exchange of ideas with erodite and seasoned resource persons.

In his remarks the Chief Of Doctrine and Combat Development Nigerian Army TRADOC Major General Jami’u Jimoh applauded the Chief Of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja for his professionalism, dynamic leadership style and unwavering support to ensure the success the workshop.

Represented by the Director Doctrine Major General Anthony Obiwulu, Major General Jimoh assured the Commander TRADOC Major General Kelvin Aligbe that the confidence reposed on them as a department will not be in vain as they are dully committed to ensuring that the Command is known for excellence.

The theme of the workshop which is Enhancing Doctrine and Combat Development in the Nigerian Army for Effective Leadership in a Joint Environment is expected to last four days.

Papers were presented by erodite scholars during the workshop.
